What Screens Should I Use for My Porch?

Sick of flies and mosquitoes ruining your summer nights? Maybe it’s time to enclose your porch with a screen. Choosing the right screen can seem like a daunting process but with out help, you can get this done in no time!

Fiberglass Screens are the cheapest selection, coming in at about 15 cents per square foot. This type of screen won’t rust but be cautious of any minor damage. Fiberglass screens aren’t the sturdiest so one little incident can lead you straight to the hardware store.

Aluminum costs about 25 cents per square foot and is the most popular choice when it comes to screens for porches. They do, however, show glare in direct sunlight.

Bronze & Copper Screens are a bit more expensive at 90 center per square foot. Copper screens will lose their color over time, turn into a bluish tint and eventually turn black.

Stainless Steel is the most expensive screen with a price tag of $1 per square foot. However, these are maintenance free and won’t rust at all. You can still expect a glare with these screens!
